What is a Vigilant Sheep Dog?

There are three types of people on this earth: sheep, wolves, and sheep dogs. The vast majority are sheep who go about their daily lives with little or no worry or concerns. The wolves want to destroy and devour the sheep, and they are ruthless in this endeavor. Thankfully, there are sheep dogs.

Vigilant means being alert and watchful, especially to avoid danger or anticipate opportunities. It suggests a high level of awareness and readiness to respond to potential threats. A Sheep Dog is intelligent, devoted, relentless and protective. We should strive to be a Vigilant Sheep Dog . Without the Sheep Dog, the sheep would be destroyed. We MUST empower ourselves as VIGILANT Sheep Dogs in order to protect our flock of family and friends, as well as ourselves and our businesses.

Bio

I'm Tim Brown, the owner and lead trainer at The Vigilant Sheep Dog. I'm not a former combat Vet or retired SWAT team officer, but rather an ordinary husband, father and grandfather. I spent six years in the Air Force in the late 70's and early 80's, and did missionary work for nine years. I've been married for 45 years, and we have one son and one grandson. I run security at our small Baptist Church, where I am also the deacon and teach Sunday School. I have a heart and passion for keeping my loved ones safe in this hostile world.

This passion started during a challenging two-week Survival Enhancement Course with the Defense Contingency Support team in 1998. I was then recalled to active duty in 1999 and deployed to Panama during the canal draw down, where I was able to put my training into action during six months of fast-paced work as we disposed of millions of dollars of assets. Black market operators were prevalent at that time. Situational awareness and conflict avoidance were key in safely completing this task.
